Feeling a Little Puffy or Drained This Summer? Let’s Talk Hydration, Minerals & Lymph Flow

Hey friends,

Between the heat, busy schedules, travel, and all the fun summer brings, it’s easy to feel a little more bloated, tired, or off-balance than usual. If you’re like most of us, you might be reaching for more water to stay hydrated — and that’s a great start!

But here’s something a lot of people don’t realize:
Drinking more water isn’t always enough,

If your body is low in vital salts and minerals, drinking more water can actually flush out even more salts and minerals— leaving you feeling just as tired, swollen, or foggy as before.

So today, I wanted to share a little reminder:
True hydration starts from the inside out. And it involves more than just plain water.

💧 Why Minerals Matter

Your body needs electrolytes like sodium, potassium, and magnesium to help water absorb properly into your cells. Without those minerals, your hydration isn’t as effective — and your lymphatic system can slow down as well.

When your lymph flow is sluggish, you may notice:

  • Puffy face or ankles

  • Bloating

  • Low energy

  • Brain fog

  • That “uncomfortable” feeling you just can’t shake

Sound familiar?

🌿 How to Feel Better: From the Inside Out

Here’s what I always recommend to clients this time of year:

  1. Replenish Your Minerals
Add a pinch of sea salt or a splash of trace mineral drops to your water (especially if you’re sweating or drinking a lot). Coconut water or homemade electrolyte drinks are also great.

  2. Support Your Lymphatic System
Your lymph helps carry waste and toxins out of your body — but remember it doesn’t have a pump and cannot move on its own. ALT (Assisted Lymphatic Therapy) gives it that gentle nudge it needs to start flowing again. This is key for reducing summer swelling and that sluggish, stuck feeling.

  3. Rest and Recharge When You Can
Sometimes it’s not just what we do, but what we don’t. Stress can cause lymph issues. Slowing down, taking time to breathe, and letting your body settle can be deeply healing — especially when paired with the right support.

🧘‍♀️ Summer is Meant to Feel Light
